Welcome to the Website of the European Rural Parliament Initiative!

The second European Rural Parliament was held in the beautiful small town of Schärding in Austria, 4 to 6 November 2015. More than 250 delegates were registered, from exactly 41 European countries.

The aim of the European Rural Parliament is

  • To strengthen the voice of the rural communities of Europe, and to ensure that the interests and well-being of these communities are strongly reflected in national and European policies
  • To promote self-help, common understanding, solidarity, exchange of good practice and cooperation among rural communities throughout Europe.

The campaign to prepare for the second European Rural Parliament was launched on 1 January 2015, and embraces action in more than 30 European countries.

The climax of the campaign was the ERP 2015 Gathering, held at the beautiful small town of Schärding in Austria on 4-6 November 2015.

The European Rural Parliament is co-initiated by the European Rural Community Alliance, PREPARE Partnership for Rural Europe, and European LEADER Association for Rural Development
