Workshops

Workshops

At the ERP, our workshops will go beyond discussion — they’re designed to bring rural realities into the heart of European policy.

Workshops at the 6th ERP explored key topics under the theme “Rural Community Solutions to Global Challenges”, including:

🌍 Climate justice and local action

🛣️ Rural mobility and access

🌾 Food sovereignty and agroecology

🧠 Mental health and wellbeing

🏡 Housing and depopulation

🤝 Local democracy and citizen-led development

🪙 Rural economy and youth employment

Each session produced inputs to feed into the Declaration of Inverurie — the shared vision rural communities will present to the European Commission.

The workshops aren’t your typical breakout rooms.

They’re co-designed by civil society, hosted in inspiring rural spaces, and focused on solutions — not just problems.

🛠️ Practical takeaways

Rural voices deserve to be heard at the highest levels — and at the European Rural Parliament, they will be.

We’re proud to have welcomed key speakers from:

🇪🇺 The European Commission & EESC

🏛️ Scottish and UK Governments

🌍 International civil society and rural networks

🗣️ Community-led movements across Europe

Their role? To listen, respond, and connect top-level policy with real, lived experience.

They were there not just to speak — but to help deliver the Declaration of Inverurie to the European Commission.
